Title: Should The Monday Breakdown Continue?
Post by: DJ_Lane on September 01, 2004, 09:39:10 pm
Im Working on a new Mix CD either going to pay for it to be pressed by me or hopefully get it signed to a local MN. label called Aphrodisio

My New CD is called Lane Pelovsky - An Exploration in Tech

While Semesters start again and alot of other things take up my time i wont be able to get any new vinyl for maybe 1-2 months, Should i continue w/ my weekly show? or press pause?

As much as you probably dont want to hear it, I say continue. I spin usually every week. I have only about 30 records, and you have more than 150 I believe. I dont stop spinning just because I dont have the latest tracks. I continue spinning because people like to listen to me, and anything beats automation of straight cuts! (Nobody likes to listen to that really).

Its a lot of fun to spin, and sometimes I do get down that I have old ass vinyl (even though most of my tracks are good), but I still keep goin on and spinning whenever I can.

HELL YES!!!!

You play 13 tracks per week, you have 150+ vinyls you can rotate tracks. Hell play the same 13 tracks in a different order each week for all I care. If you stop Monday breakdown because you are temporarily unable to get new vinyl I will personally come to MN and kick your ass.!

Now gimme a min and I'll tell you how I really feel LOL.

Hahhaha, word.

I think you really shouldn't stop just because of lack of new vinyl, if it would really be so bad (same and same and same tunes all over) you could like do it not every week or something + geting your sets with new + old tracks is really classic, that gets the crowd on and you NEED to spin, because you will DIE! that is loose your skills, they need to be improoved, and that's the best way. Blah blah blah, lots of text here, yeah yeah, jada jada, just go on.
