American Idol 2009 gets halfway to Top 12

American Idol is halfway to revealing their Top 12 after putting 3 more people through to the next round. The hopes of nine more contestants were dashed as they were sent home. Host Ryan Seacrest told us that we again broke records last night, with over 25 million votes tallied. Ryan then told Simon Cowell that he was talking to Randy Jackson about how awesome Simon is this year. Simon just wants to improve every year. He also wanted the show to be about the contestants. The group performance tonight was "Closer" by Ne-Yo.
