BOOM / 2006.03.07 with special guest: Andy Moor

Ask any leading electronic musician or production and DJ following fan, which artists are synonymous with all that's good in today and tomorrow's scene and one of the names you'll be given is Andy Moor.

From learning his first piano piece at the age of five to mastering six musical instruments by the age of ten, to spinning his first record at the age of thirteen onto rocking the worlds leading festivals in front of tens of thousands of people by the age of twenty one.

A mixture of hard work, determination and raw talent has catapulted Andy to the status as one of the most definitive and influential artists in the progressive house music scene today, although to pigeonhole Andy to one genre of music would be a crime in itself.

Andy Moor is a born musician, and as with any truly world class musician they can turn their hand to produce the epitome of 'amazing' in any musical genre they so desire. Even more impressive is Andy's ability to create tracks which cross genres, and can play as equally an important part in a Sasha or Digweed set as to that of Tiesto or Paul Oakenfold.

Still only at the age of twenty-five, the UK based musician forms one half of melodic progressive house act Leama & Moor, a third of the legendary Tilt and half of 2004 trance act of the year Whiteroom whilst his solo productions stand equally accountable.

The impressive list of artists to receive the Andy Moor remix touch include Avril Lavigne, Paul Oakenfold, Brian Eno, Tiesto and Arthur Baker to name but a few and as his tracks add colour to club charts across the world, recent times have seen Andy accumulate an impressive accolade of awards and an ever growing global fan base.

Whilst Andy's addition to the legendary Tilt act has culminated in the highly acclaimed 'Explorer' album, of which the first release 'The World Doesn't Know' received global airplay and critical acclaim from DJs and music fans alike, his co production work as Leama & Moor on remixes including Nelly Furtado, Orbital, Starkid and Tiesto have created a phenomenon for their unique cross genre sound, making them one of the most in demand remix and DJ teams.

Andy's debut co-production under the Whiteroom alias, also of the same name, was hailed by Armin Van Buuren and Above & Beyond as the best trance production of 2004 with further confirmation when they picked up 'Best Production' and `Best Producers? at the 2005 Trance Awards.

As a DJ, Andy provides the weekend soundtrack to many of the world's most prolific parties and festivals taking his own version of modern day house music and pushing boundaries with his flawless technical ability and dedicated ear for uncompromising musical set structure.

And it is as a solo DJ where the Andy Moor experience is best seen and heard. Bringing together all his influences culminating in a mixture of beautifully crafted electronic house music it's not surprising that whilst fresh international demand surpasses the logistical ability of one man, it is the demand for 'more Moor' from the promoters and clubbers whose booths Andy has already graced which eclipse that of your 'good' international DJ.

Whilst remaining a regular feature across Eastern Europe at leading events in Hungary, Lithuania, Slovakia, Poland and The Ukraine, regular air mile accumulators to China, Singapore, and the USA along with closer to home performances in Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Turkey and of course his native UK have allowed Andy to reach many of his truly global fan base.

But it certainly doesn't stop there. As Andy settles into a five day per week studio schedule on the much anticipated debut Leama & Moor album, the remaining two days of each week are spent entertaining his much appreciated and loyal fans, and in typically modest Andy Moor style he remains equally committed to splitting his DJ schedule between his long time followers and his many new found friends.

Whether you've bought the records or the albums, seen the live act or DJ performances or purely heard the name on the grapevine you can be sure you're going to see much more of Andy.

BOOM / 2006.02.28 with special guest: Thomas Bronzwaer A.K.A. Arizona

Thomas was born on the 30th of September in 1984, in a town called Nijmegen, Holland. Since 2003, he has been living and studying in Utrecht (also in Holland).

He started making music in 1999, and had only been listening to it intensively for about 2 years then. Somehow it took him a very long time to develop any interest in music - somewhere about the age of 12 he started listening to the fantastic soundtracks of the Wipeout-game series on the Playstation and became hooked! From there, he started off producing goofy stuff with programs such as MODplug tracker, and then somewhere in the year 2000 a friend of him inevitably introduced Thomas to the sounds of DJ Tiësto. Of course tracks such as 'Push - Universal Nation' really blew his mind, and that's when it all started for Thomas.

Well, some three years of making lots of snippets followed. The real producing process started rolling in 2003 - the first record deal followed that summer; Arizona & Greg Murray - Daylight on Afterglow recordings.

Shortly afterwards more tracks followed, most notably Octagen & Arizona - Starburst/Profound with Thomas' friend Paul Moelands. This track received some big attention! Featured on Gatecrasher and Marco V compilations and hammered by all the big jocks, Starburst was the first project in which Thomas was involved, that made waves in the trance world. In 2004, more stuff followed - a new track with Greg Murray on Platipus called 'Solarflare', a remix for John O'Callaghan's 'Mercury' and, 2004's big one, a collaboration with good friend Galen Behr (Passiva). Arizona vs. Passiva - 'Halo' was in fact finished in 2004 but turned out to be a devil to get signed! The year turned again and eventually 'Halo' found a home on esteemed Dutch trance label Dedicated (United Recordings). United proved a helpful ally, providing us with a remix by Danjo & Styles who made a total monster! Once again, the Arizona moniker rippled across tranceland, receiving major support. Thomas and Galen were asked to remix Menno de Jong's new 'Sayla' single shortly afterwards. An Arizona remix of Stenna's 'Skyline' followed on Discover UK's 'Flux Delux' label. After that, Thomas produced his very first solo single 'Close Horizon' which was released on United's 'Yakuza' imprint. Since this was the first track he put out under his real name, it was an exciting time - fortunately it couldn't have turned out better for Thomas! With support from every major name in the scene, massive positive feedback, an appearance on Paul van Dyk's new album 'Politics of Dancing 2' and a license deal to his label Vandit (including a PvD remix!) Thomas of course was completely blown away by how well this track was doing. From there on, things started rolling really well.

Tracklist will be updated during the broadcast.

BOOM / 2006.02.21 with special guest: Gabriel Batz

Born and raised in Montreal from Guatemalan descent, Gabriel Batz opted for a career as a professional tennis player. But his love for the game of tennis was quickly replaced and pushed aside by his other passion.

As long as he can remember, music has played an essential part in Gabriel’s life. It had a very healing effect on him. Raised by deep melodic new age music, it is electronic dance music that captured his heart the most. From a very early age, his father introduced him to ambient and atmospheric music, styles that would eventually shape Gabriel’s ear and vision to what music should.

Since his father had rare and unique collection of records, the collection was mostly on vinyl. Gabriel would listen for hours on his father’s old Technics belt-driven turntable and got the chance to experiment with the gear. At that time, he started to DJ and felt that making people dance was way more exiting than to strum the guitar.

After a couple of years behind the decks, he realized that playing records and making people dance wasn’t enough. Producing music was the next big step Batz took in his career. His unique sound quickly made him known to the trance scene. With squelchy riffs and looped rhythms driven by a hypnotic bass line, it’s obvious that his tracks were aimed at progressive addicts worldwide but most importantly to the dance floor.

Gabriel Batz's talent as a DJ / Producer earned him his place in the trance scene. Currently supported by Markus Schulz, Elevation,
Nick Thompson, Kenneth Thomas, Jav D, Andy Moor, Andrew Bennett,
Perry O'neil, Sander Van Doom, M.I.K.E., Judge Jules and many others.

Batz will continue to thrive in the music industry.
