Amplitude Radio / Amplitude Radio Episode 4 - Youchoons (Saturday 5-7pm GMT, 1-3pm EST, 6-8pm CET)

Amplitude Radio returns this month for Episode 4.  Not having too much time I haven’t had chance to prepare anything for the show.  So, like every show so far it will pretty much me winging it for 2 hours.

Get your requests in and I can play them on the show.

For the DJ on the phone this month we have Inline DJ supremo and forum legend Ben Pageau aka Oneiric.  We were going to have Daniel Kandi on the show, but he hasn’t finished making his uber l33t mega new choon yet.   So look out for it next month instead.  Not wanting to take any credit away from Ben of course who has just successfully launched the Inline DJ podcast. So if Saturdays are boring on the non DESTINATION:trance weekends or if you just like the sound of my voice ballsing up almost every link I do or even if you like REAL trance this is the place for you.

Now at episode number 31, boy oh boy does time fly when you are having fun.  We have a special guest mix planned for you this week.  For this weeks show we have drafted in the incredibly talented Lange who needs absolutely no introduction at all.  Having been around on the dj circuit for well over 10 years now, Stu has finally gotten himself sorted out and has released his first artist album just last week.

As if that wasn't all he will also be playing at Trance Gen as well alongside Agnelli & Nelson, Corderoy and co.  Oh and not forgetting Showdown whom our very own Phil is a part of.

After the fun and shenanigans of the last episode where we heard some classics, it is now time for the next instalment of Amplitude Radio. As regular as “Aunt Flow” comes to visit the ladies, Party 107 serves up once again 2 hours of cracking music.

I was going to write some spiel about Star Wars (Trance Wars) and the becoming of Darth Crossfader and his conversion to the dark side of trance (prog) being Episode III and all.  However, lucky for you guys I run out of ideas by the time I reached C3DJ and R2DJM800.

So instead I will tell you about the show.  I intend to play some prog on the show (unless I get enough requests for uplifting trance) which might come as a surprise to many of you as it is well known that prog is my enemy.  I will not dedicate the whole show to playing the dreaded “P word” and if I get itchy fingers I will shift up the pitch control at will.

What I will do is play your requests for you as this show is completely 100% LIVE!  I will try and dig out a few classics as well, some of the more obscure stuff you don’t normally hear on every Gatecrasher/Ministry of Sound/Godskitchen cds.

Not forgetting of course that we have T.A.M.A.S on the phone revealing what his record of the month is.

I don’t think there will be enough time to squeeze it all in.

I am considering for the next show at the end of March playing an Anjuna power hour where I will play a whole hour of Anjuna tunes.  I don’t want any control over this, so I want you (the listeners) to vote for the Anjuna tunes that I play.

Amplitude Radio returns this Saturday for episode 2.  Hosted by Ant Attwood, the show is 100% LIVE.  Unlike any other radio show, this show isn’t about the latest and greatest promos around at the moment; it’s about all the best tunes from anytime, whether it be next month, last month, last year or even 10 years ago.  Unlike other shows too, Ant does shoutouts and requests LIVE on air so if you have a request feel free to ask.

The show also features a dj on the phone to tell us what their tune of the month is.  This month Redstar was supposed to be doing this feature but due to technical gremlins he have had to pass the baton on to Phil from Showdown who I’m sure will pick a belter.

What a special show it is.  DESTINATION:trance officially turns one year old today, and what better way to celebrate than to get the man who makes everything possible to provide us a very exclusive guest mix.  Yes that's right We here at DESTINATION:trance proudly present to you DJ Mark Kane.

Mark is the head honcho of the radio station you all know and love (Party 107). He has a very good ear for a tune and likes to play trance of a melodic and uplifting nature.  Being no stranger to djing Mark takes to the decks like aduck does to water.  Will be very interesting to see what he has in store for us as DESTINATION:trance turns 1 year old.

Tired from Christmas shopping? Need some trance to wrap presents or write cards to?  Just like trance and want to hear some live trance on the radio?

If you answered yes to any of the above please tune in to the first ever Amplitude Radio today on Party 107 with myself Ant Attwood.

The whole show is me mixing LIVE for 2 hours and it's a new monthly thing starting today and will take place on the 4th Saturday of each and every month.

The playlist of the show is completely open and I will be taking requests, please post them in this thread.  This unlike most radio shows will not be a promo-fest although there will be some new tunes in the mix no doubt.  

Also in todays show I have Party 107 head honcho DJ Mark Kane on the phone telling me his record of the month.

This week the guest mix comes from none other than Andy Dunford.  Andy has been wowing crowds on the London  scene for a little while now.  Putting in solid warm up sets and peak time destroyer sets this man is incredibly versatile behind the decks.  Andy’s sets are typically well crafted and tell a story and you will almost hear at least one forgotten classic in each set.  Andy has played at some of the biggest London venues including Turnmills, Heaven and Hidden.

So for the second hour of the show we hand you over to Andy Dunford for what will be a cracking guest mix.

So.... you may or may not remember, last year we played host to 5hours of the very best trance tracks of 2006 as voted for by us and by you guys (although mainly us ).  It was where the reinvented D:t all started... again.

Well we're very happy to announce that we're going to be doing it all over again this year in a 6hour extravaganza, live on Party107.  On Saturday 29th December (conveniently placed in that little void between crimbo and new year) we'll be counting down the top50 trance tracks of the year, 100% live and direct to your computer from the D:t studio.

Last year we were joined in the studio by the fabulous Dan Kandi who not only mixed the top 50 show with us, but performed a very special and exclusive guest mix that has gone down in legend.

And this year will be no different, in that we'll be accompanied by one of London and England's finest young DJs and Producers.  This chap's tracks have been staples in both Ant's and Showndown's sets all year, and rightly so as they rock.  But, and here comes the rub, we're not gonna tell you who just yet.... in true reality tv suspenseful linger stylee, we're going to wait a while before we make the reveal.  Ha!

But, this is where you guys come in....

We'd like you to send us your top tracks of the year.  What have you really enjoyed this year?  Which tracks can't you stop listening to?  Which tracks have really made you spine tingle?  Which tracks have gotten the best reaction from crowds when played out?  Which track(s) couldn't you live without?

You can send us you top 3, your top 10, your top 20, or if your really brave... your top 50!  Basically, whichever tracks you feel that should get a mention and a playing on the show.  This is your very real chance to influence the vote, so don't come crying to us when your favourite floor filler doesn't make it onto the list!

There are many ways to get your votes to us over the course of the next month or so.... you can post you picks here in this very thread, you can personal message (pm) either myself  Ant (Double A), you can email them to Phil at "phil at showdowndjs dot com", you can post them on this 7 forum thread, text us, send us a postal letter, or get your local scribe to note them down on the finest turkish parchment and fly it to us by carrier pigeon.  Whichever way you fancy!

Also, you can make as many changes to your picks as you want, just let us know your changes and we'll update the uber spreadsheet that I've got my monkeys work on right now!  We're not sure when the cut off date will be just yet, but we won't spring it on you, so there's plenty of time.
