Trance / JK Walker - Double Life (inc Activa & Impulsive)[Borderline]
« on: September 29, 2011, 02:50:19 am »

Out on Beatport: 10th October 2011
Out in all download stores: 24th October 2011

Support from: Scot Project, Activa, Greg Downey, Jon O'Bir, Mark Sherry, Paul Trainer, Paul Webster, Peetu S, Simon Bostock, Andre Visior, Akira Kayosa, Thomas Datt, Will Atkinson, William Daniel and many more!

The return of JK Walker is here!

It has been a long journey for John Stembridge, one that created the JK Walker alias that saw its peak in the height of the hard trance era, when the likes of Scot Project reigned at the top of the genre. A lot has changed since then, but JK Walker is still an alias that resonates with the clubbing fraternity of the time, their memories linked to many of his productions.

The JK Walker alias has now returned with a track that consolidates John's knowledge and styles to great effect. A track that sounds as unique now as any of his material from half a decade ago; Double Life. The original mix is, what could be considered as the new hard trance. Tough synths, a booming kick and an evil riff!

Label boss Activa is on hand with a Mekk-esque take on Double Life that adjusts the main riff to create an uplifting, but booming monster. The groove and drive of the remix reminiscent of Resistance, a track still revered by many trance fans.

Last but not least, Borderline regular Impulsive Drive with a techier remix which is much more groove driven with glitches galore!

A wide ranging package that will be sure to have something youll like!

Trance / Will Atkinson - Side by Side [Borderline]
« on: September 10, 2011, 01:46:39 pm »

Out on Beatport: 12th September 2011
Out in all download stores: 26th September 2011

Support from: Activa, MIKE, Greg Downey, Tom Colontonio, Scot Project, Indecent Noise, Paul Webster, Neal Scarborough, Simon Bostock, Mark Sherry, Dan Stone, DJ Ange, Akira Kayosa, Andre Visior, Sly One vs Jurrane, Thomas Datt and many more!

Will Atkinson makes his return to Borderline with Side by Side, a track which takes influence from older trance artists like Airwaves Velvet Girl alias.

Will's stock has been rising rapidly and is fully deserved as he shows his strong style and incredible production skills in tracks like Heartfelt, his last outing on Borderline and Empty Words and Lights Out on Discover Digital, as well as working alongside Nick Callaghan on Let Go and the massive F16 remix for Simon Patterson's Night Vision.

Side by Side once again, shows off Will's technical ability as a producer and engineer and his ability to incorporate different styles into his own unique sound by taking influence from older, more classic sounding trance.

John Dopping brings us a more psy orientated mix for his debut Borderline, presenting a much more underground style than what fans of Borderline are used to, but without compromising on quality and impact.

Will Atkinson has been carving a successful career for only the last 2 years, but has quickly become a staple of many DJs sets, regularly crossing the techno-trance-hard dance genres with releases on the likes of CGI and Fraction and more recently Discover's 'Digital' label and Marcel Woods' Musical Madness.

Heartfelt is Will's first outing on the Borderline imprint, which shows off not only his musical talents as a writer, but also his technical talents as an engineer and producer. Heartfelt is a storming tech-trancer with one of the finest breaks in some time, a piano laden dream fest which sucks you deep into the track before knocking your head off!

Mark Burton's Viper lands on Borderline for its 5th release and the last for 2010!

Mark's career has been building over the past months seeing his first release, The Fifth Element signed to Armada's 'Soundpiercing' sub label and released in early 2010 followed by 'Any Time Existence' in August this year on the Soundpiercing Selections compilation.

Viper, the debut release on Borderline is a dark driving techy affair with huge, evil acids and a dark sinister stabbing riff. A little less uplifting, in the more conventional sense, than usual but just as effective on the dancefloor's of the world.
