At last, a Z Factor which has actually been prepared in time and that I will actually be around for! Evidently the guestmix schedule has fallen a little off-track, so it's 2 hours of myself this week with a few of my recent vinyl purchases thrown in to spice things up at the end. Guestmixes will hopefully run now until the end of September when I am preparing to cut this show down to one episode per month. This is to give me more time to concentrate on other things I want to do, but should also allow me to put a lot more effort into making each one more interesting to listen to.

You may/may not be aware of a new site/mail out called 'Virtual Music Magazine', which is being run by Cat and Bex from Zirenz. When I started the Z Factor a year ago I did wonder how long it would last, and while making this show is still really just a hobby I have been amazed at the response from lots of you! I won't be amazing anyone with the concept of this week's show, yes it's a classics mix. Not quite a megamix but I've spent quite a while picking the tracks and making sure it flows a little more interestingly than a typical 2 hour session. I've attempted to represent the much deeper side of trance here (not the Anjunadeep side!), so put the likes of 'For An Angel', 'Gouryella', 'Airwave'...etc out of your mind and maybe next year I'll make a lighter mix to balance things out. Whilst I was visiting home over Christmas I revisited some of my favourite old vinyl shops, one of which proved particularly fruitful and I walked away with 16 great records for just over £10. I was so pleased with my purchases that I've used most of them as the basis for this week's show, in the first ever Z Factor recorded entirely off the black stuff. Look out for the dodgy mixing amongst some, many or fewer that you may not have heard before.

As is that wasn't enough the forum guestmixes continue with William Profota, probably best known for his large collection of usernames as well as the good work he does for Vandit and now Neuroscience. Having access to some upfront material has helped him provide us with a great tracklist, so tune in later today to hear it all.
