Media formats, what do you prefer?
-
Nothing beats the real feel of vinyl. You can actually feel the record, and have real control over it. No depending on "digital" and "virtural" things that could go wrong. It's just you, your hand, and the turntable.
You can really physically manipulate the record. Vinyl is the true art of mixing in my opinion.

i like cd's and vinyl, i love vinyl, if i could only spin on it, i would, but the cost of media, and the ability for new tunes, i like cd's for that aspect

VINYL
OF COURSE! (Just like every real DJ will say)
But with today technology and tomorrows still to come. Who knows my opinion 10 years from now. But I bet it will still be Vinyl.
WAX all the way

Even in 10-20 years, what will there be? Some new minature CD in the constant effort to make everything smaller and more portable, or just small media cards like memory sticks and SD cards?
Vinyl is real, authentic, and the only way I'm spinning from now on. (Occationally I may drop a set with my DND-9000, but its really a bad piece of equipment. I wish I would've seen the light of vinyl before I bought that! :x. I would've started with Techs and have much more vinyl now.)

I'm working on mixing with my mind, instead of my hands. But I hav'nt quite got it down yet.

I love vinyl... although I've been using cdjs it doesn't mean I love em more... my vinyls are my passion and a piece of my life. If I take care of them they will stick with me through a life time
me <3 vinyl

I love vinyl, but you can do some pretty cool ish with CDs that you can't with vinyl. I plan to get a CDJ when I get some money.

What can you do with CDs that you cant do with vinyl?
Loop something? Get a sampler. Do effects? Get an effects processor or mixer with effects. VINYL OWNS! :p

You can play songs before they are released on vinyl.

hmm i'm honestley goin to have to say i like cds more than vinyl...i've been djing with vinyl since 99 so dont get me wrong, however i dont really care for it anymore...it looks cool sounds warm whatever...with cd's its much cheaper and u can play whatever the fuck u want without having to wait to purchase...i still spin vinyl but to tell u the truth its really becoming all about cd djing for me

Okiz.. you want my opinion ?? .. Here goes..
You can use CDs more easier as coffeemugholder, than a vinyl on the coffeetable.
Other than that, I'd rather SEE my track spin, than that it's been stuffed behind some closed and darkened window, where I can't even keep up the 500-rpm spinning-disc to read the label.
Also, it's VERY hard reading the fine print on a CD-cover, compared to the poster-size pictures you get if you have the same content on vinyl..
There you go..
3 'non standard' issues that VINYL still is THE media for DJing.
a bonus standard:
Every **sh0le can BURN a cdr.. It has no feeling. If your friend gives you the same track on ViNYL .... you want to play it over and over and over again..
Have fun upcoming fallfestival04 ... I sure will :D

Without a doubt Vinyl is King !
There is nothing like the feel and sound of a vinyl record.
That said cds are cool but if its on vinyl Ill buy the vinyl over the cd :D
