For the Party107 Myspace, You should put the live stream to the station onto the site, I can give you the codes you need put into the profile to be able to have it streaming on the page.

Put this into the section that says Music.
Quotehttp://www.party107.com/Party107US160.asx" loop="true" type="application/x-mplayer2" Width="320" height="45" DisplaySize="0" AutoStart="true">

That code will put an embedded WMP into the page so that it connects to the live stream. :)

Yep good idea TC. Just by looking at the code, I would assume it would be possible to set AutoStart to "false" and not have it play when someone visited the page. I don't visit MySpace much, but a good majority of the MySpace pages I do go to have autoloading music, animations, and heavy CSS stuff that freezes browsers up...so I'm not sure if autostarting is such a good idea to maintain a user friendly page.

What do you guys think?

DJTransid

i personally dont like auto start, since i have music on my winamp always playing

It doesn't freeze the browser at all, And it works on both IE and Firefox just fine.

Oh, I didn't mean this specifically would freeze it up. I just meant there are a lot of profiles with stuff that starts automatically which is somewhat annoying. I was going to give it a try now, but I can't seem to login :p

TigerClaw

Can't log on Myspace either.

One thing I wanted to put out is that the embedded player won't display whats currently playing on the stream, And the sig we have with the php wont display on the myspace page unless it was a link to a jpg or gif.

TigerClaw

Myspace is finally working again. :)

Yep.

I added the player to the page, although I'm not sure if it's working. My Mac shows the embedded player but gives an error (granted, the latest WMP version of Mac is very old). On my main Unix workstation, the embedded mplayer sees it and buffers as if it's going to play, but doesn't.

Can you guys try it under Windows and that WMP and let me know if it works?

Also, I did try the dynamic now playing signature....wouldn't let me :(. I will see if there is a way I can have it generate an actual .png or .jpg of that image every hour or X minutes with the set playing. That's better than nothing :)

TigerClaw

Seems like Myspace is down again, I'm going to bed, I will check it later if your embedded player worked when I get up.

Okay thanks.

I did fix up an automatic generator for a real .png image for the Now Playing (good idea on that too btw). It will generate a real .png file instead of the live .php every 10 minutes. Drawback is it's not up to the second, but it's pretty close and should cover most set changes pretty quickly.

...should do it :)

TigerClaw

Ok dude, The player works, But heres the thing, If you put AutoStart="false" into the code for the player, It won't play when on IE which is what you wanted, However, If you load the page on Firefox, It will play automatically regardless if its set to true or false.

I did a test for that banner thing and it works.
