FYI
Dec 11, 2005 [11:07] Unable to connect : java.net.ConnectException : Connection timed out: connect
Just me?
timed out on irc too
Hi Jake.
All IRC servers are up and operaional. What server are you trying? It should be "irc.mixxnet.net". If it doesn't work, then you are most likely firewalled on port 6667. Try:
anjuna.il.us.mixxnet.net port 7000 or a Java Chat on port 7000 (http://www.mixxnet.net/javachat/party107.php)

Isn't it possible to add more than 1 server to the applet? so that people can choose which one they take to join irc channel (like when one isn't working because of firewall..)

We can, but the round robin is sufficient
I do not believe the web applet software supports that feature "out of the box". It can have multiple servers in a list for it to connect to but not a user dropdown type box.
I will keep that in mind though for future development of the MIXXnet Java Chat portal. The current applet for use with any channel is at: http://www.mixxnet.net/java/?channel=channelname, but that's just the standard 6667.
It's a good idea though.
