Mydnyte's Mastyr Myxx / The future of MMM
« on: September 06, 2004, 03:10:37 am »
Hello all!

Sorry bout Saturday - now that the semester is in full swing, I have very little free time.  Unfortunately this means that MMM will no longer be a weekly event.  Instead, you will randomly see it pop up on the Party calendar and then I will spin whenever I ended up signing up (I'm a poet and I don't know it, I rhyme all the time :D ).

So yeah, I'm gonna be more of a guest DJ than a resident now :(  Unfortunately, this also means I won't be all that present in the chat room.  I'll still pop in when I can, but my apartment has become more of a place to sleep than a home, if you know what I mean.

But enough of the bad news, let's talk about some good news!  I'm making money!!!  This means new turntables in a couple months, a new mixer after that, and then more vinyl!  So when I spin, I'll be better than ever!

More good news, CD5 will be done when I next get some free time!  It's high nrg, lots of Warp Brothers tracks lol

And finally, the best news of all (no, I don't have a girlfriend - that's impossible at CSM)...

School doesn't suck ass!  YAY!!!

So yeah, life's goin on, much stuff to do (grading three sections of C++...eek...), but I'll try to be around.

Laters all!

Mydnyte's Mastyr Myxx / MMM XXVII Attempt 2 (08/28/04)
« on: August 28, 2004, 11:04:15 am »
Hi all!

Life has been busy busy busy busy busy since it's been the first week of school.  Fiji recruitment week, getting a job (researching sensory networks - YAY!!!!!), figuring out what the hell my classes are...etc.

So here's today's schedule:

9:30am - noon-ish Fiji stuff
noon-ish - 2pm-ish Throw many many MANY water balloons at the other fraternities :D
2pm-ish - 5pm Soccer
5pm - 6pm Double-check oldskool set
6pm - 8pm Spin oldskool set :)
8:01pm - late Get drunk at the end-of-recruitment-week Fiji party :D
late - noon-ish Sunday !!!SLEEP!!!

So yeah, can't wait to spin for you guys, it'll kick ass, and there is not a track being spun that was made later than 1999 ( most were made in '97 or '98 ).

See you then!

Mydnyte's Mastyr Myxx / MMM XXVII (08/21/04)
« on: August 21, 2004, 07:44:43 am »
That's right, I went back and figured out exactly which edition of MMM this is :)

As you might have guessed from my absence in the chatrooms, school is starting!  I've been helping mom clean the house and redo the garage (not sure why, but she's my mom and she can't do it due to physical stuff up the yin-yang, and what are sons for anyways :) ), I just finished completely rebuilding a website (nothing special, and not all content is up yet, but if you are interested head to http://www.mines.edu/Stu_life/organ/fiji/ ), and now am doing rush stuff for the Fiji chapter.  Oh, and school starts Tuesday and I don't have my books and I'm still waitlisted for one of my classes and I owe the school about $380 because my student loan hasn't come through yet.

EEK!!!!!!

So my schedule for today (Saturday) is:

9:30am  Leave apartment to go to Fiji house
10:00am Rush meeting
11:00am-4:59pm Recruit people
5:00pm Leave early (missing movie night) so that I can do...
6:00pm-8:00pm MMM
8:10pm Leave to go to parents' house
8:40pm Finish off the garage stuff for mom
When garage is finished Sleep

Oh, and of course I got to bed at 6:00am this morning.

God how I hate this week and next week.

But I'll still spin :)

I'm probably gonna do an old-skool set - as many tracks from '97 and '98 as I have...which is a lot :)  But it's gonna be almost completely spur-of-the-moment on-the-fly mixing, so I'm sorry in advance :)

Anyways, hope y'all enjoyed my diatribe, and I'll see you...uhhh.....later tonight!

Idle Conversation / 'ello 'ello! (funny topic)
« on: April 16, 2004, 03:52:06 am »
Alrighty so I finally got onto this here forum, figured I'd start a random topic of conversation.  So here goes:

According to a very well-known and respected author, the answer to the question
"How many roads must a man walk down?"
is 42.  For that matter, the answer to life, the universe, and everything is 42.

According to a very well-known and respected mathematician, the answer to the question
"What is 2 + 2?"
is 4.  Note that this is not 42, even though (according to the above author) the answer to everything is 42.

So the funny topic of conversation I pose to you is this:

Who is right?  The author or the mathematician?
