In US each channel requires 10kHz. In Europe 9kHz. So, for US there can be 10 channels and for UE 11 (1000kHz - 1100kHz).

If the signal is not modulated, there is no limit.The limiting factor is the instant bandwidth of the signal. If you modulate the signal at 10 KHz, it needs twice that bandwidth.

The theoretical bandwidth of an AM radio signal is exactly twice the bandwidth of the audio signal that modulates the carrier. In practice, you may need a little extra bandwidth between stations---how much depends on the selectivity of the receiver circuits.
